The Canteen was built for three academies as a place for both interdisciplinary communication and inviting for a stay not only for lunch. The draft uses the maximum available ground space and the identical space as a roof. Ground and roof were figuratively pulled apart and, like filled with a ductile mass, the lines of force became visible. The construction of the bearing structure with its diagonal beams is made of sustainable wooden products, covered with a polyurethane coating protecting the building against atmospheric exposure.
The 1200 m² wall elements and 1700 m² roof elements are made of prefabricated Leno cross laminated timber, Kerto laminated veneer lumber and glulam for a timesaving assembly.
