MEGA Stockach, the 145 m long and 100 m wide trading centre for butcher and catering goods is covered with about 800 ready manufactured Kerto-Ripa roof elements.
The longest elements are 13,1 m with a span of up to 10,5 m. The wooden solution was chosen as the best material to cope with this span in an efficient way. The Kerto-Ripa elements with 300 and 360 mm height of rib cover the flat roof areas as well as the ton construction of glulam trusses. The skylights are manufactured as curved rib elements and are extended by Leno elements on the side.
The architect appreciated the fact, that the box elements are according to fire protection class F 30-B without any further processing – an essential aspect for his choice.
